New London, CT, August 26, 2024 — Alpha Capital Funds donated over $3,000 worth of essential school supplies to support students in New London Public Schools, helping them prepare for the 2024–25 academic year. The donation drop-off took place at the district’s Welcome Center on Shaw Street—located in the heart of a neighborhood where the company actively invests.
This effort marks the second consecutive year Alpha Capital has partnered with the school district to ensure students and families are well-equipped as the school year begins. Supplies included notebooks, backpacks, pens, markers, folders, and other classroom essentials.
“Our goal is always to support the communities we’re part of,” said Johnny Diaz, COO of Alpha Capital Funds. “We know families are under pressure during back-to-school season, and this is one way we can help relieve that burden.”
New London Public Schools Welcomes Contribution
New London Public Schools welcomed the contribution, noting how efforts like this directly benefit families in need. Dr. Eileen Valencia, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, noted how every donation is personally distributed and tracked to ensure each student receives what they need.
“This level of intentionality is what makes the biggest difference,” Valencia shared. “These supplies don’t just sit in a bin—we match them to real families based on what’s needed and what’s missing.”
