Alpha Capital Funds Donates Over $3,000 in School Supplies to New London Public Schools

New London, CT, August 26, 2024 — Alpha Capital Funds is proud to announce the successful completion of a back-to-school drive benefiting New London Public Schools. Our real estate company donated over $3,000 worth of essential school supplies to support students in the community. The supplies were delivered to the Welcome Center in New London, located on Shaw Street, where Alpha Capital Funds owns several properties.

Our team connected with Cynthia Ritchie, Superintendent of New London Public Schools, who introduced us to Jersa Valencia, Coordinator of Family Engagement and Empowerment. Valencia provided a comprehensive list of the supplies needed by the school district and helped schedule the delivery.

On Friday, August 23rd, just days before the scheduled delivery, Alpha Capital Funds received a $450 grant from GoFundMe, the platform used to raise additional funds for the drive. With this grant, our team quickly headed to Walmart to purchase even more supplies, ensuring that as many students as possible would be prepared for the start of the school year.

The donated supplies included backpacks, notebooks, pens and pencils, erasers, folders, binders, lunch boxes, and various other essentials. The delivery team, consisting of Tyler Smith, CEO of Alpha Capital Funds, Micah Bailey, Director of Digital Marketing, and Victoria Gagain, Marketing Manager, personally delivered the supplies on Monday, August 26th.

Valencia explained how all the donations will be split up and delivered to the schools in the district that need it most, he emphasized, “thank you guys for taking the time, and doing this.”

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to giving back to the communities where we invest,” said Smith “We are excited to support New London’s students as they begin the new school year!”

Superintendent Cynthia Ritchie expressed her appreciation for the donation, “We are honored that you are willing and able to help us support our students and families! We are currently in the process of seeking donations, so your timing is perfect!”

The Mayor of New London also commented on the importance of community involvement in education, “I greatly appreciate your company’s civic engagement. Our community is greatly enhanced when local businesses contribute their time and resources to support our families and youth.”
